Biography: |
| | Silvina Lanusse, the youngest of seven, is born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Since a very early age she has been passionate about drawing and painting, always supported by her family and friends. She remembers how her classmates in Elementary school always asked her to do their drawing assignments for them.
Silvina is grateful for all the opportunities she’s been given in life and feels committed to giving as much back to society. She has been involved as a volunteer artist in local schools and art centres. She designed an art summer camp program for an art youth centre in Florida and conducted the painting of 4 murals for a local elementary school. She also loves taking part in theatre production for the different school plays as she enjoys working with children.
Upon arriving to Canada in January 2008 Silvina joins ArtistCircle, a group facilitated by ArtsConnect and ArtFocus Artists’ Association.
She is inspired by children and animals. Her work is colourful and radiant like her characters. She likes to paint her animals playing and doing the things children do. Acrylics and oils have been her main instruments in making her dream a reality.
Silvina continues to share her talent with the community and is always looking for ways of getting everybody involved in the creative processes. Her love for children and art are the ingredients for a successful and promising career. |

Artist’s Statement: |
| | My work is happy and radiant. My goal is to make my audience smile.
I am passionate about acrylics as they are bright and pliable. I feel like my subjects come to play with me as I paint, sharing some quality time with each and every one. I experience an emotional connection with them when I’m painting. Children and chimpanzees are my inspiration. They are fun, loving, cheerful and joyous. The expression on their faces is captivating to me. Painting to me is like dancing to the rythm of the colours I choose!
Come dance with me! |
